Free painting
In a free painting are used various thickeners, with which or cover a fabric (ground), or thicken dyes themselves. It is possible to carry out a free painting on the grounded fabric (practically on any of it), I use as advantage - effects of flowing, wash-out, dabs etc. Different structures of a fabric, brush and dyes give unimaginable quantity of variety of color combination, the invented nuances, stylistic researches to practically adjusted mind.
Find for gourmets is a technique - “a dry brush”, applied by different brushes on various fabrics. It is required skill, freely to use pencil’s techniques, to know laws of picture, masterly to use a brush (including a brush of own hands). So, I wish to tell that exactly in a free painting is required the skill, rich practice of drawing and painting, free possession of material, the tool and techniques of painting.
The fabric is not a canvas and not a paper. The material dictates the features. Besides, very often the invoice of a fabric, structure of a fibre, its interlacing play very important role in how the result of your work will look. For long years of practice, I have turned out experience of “dialogue” with difficult fabrics, when lacks of a cloth you transform into its advantages. For example, having bought a roll of desired cloth, you find out that fibres do not absorb a paint and simply push it away - effect “like water off a duck’s back”. Certainly, about any “pouring”, there is cannot be any speech. I use such fabric for techniques “dry brush” - full sensation of pencil figure or chalks - and strokes and lines, and tone - but it is only the brush, which has walked on a fabric that is not suitable for anything. Effect is simply magic. I always like to do “a free painting.” With sense and without, combining invoices, madly beautiful transitions of tone and color, combining dabs, spots, lines; sometimes adding a reality, sometimes doing without it - it is burning fleeting passion, which excites feelings and pleases an eye. It is Rainbow, Sun, Wind, and Rain... (sometimes it all is in one “"bottle”)...
Certainly, here helps experience of the painter, person of graphic area- free using of various materials and techniques, knowledge of laws of a composition, colours, a constant plein-air practice, skill of many kinds of needlework - all it gives unlimited freedom of creativity, as in a choice of techniques of execution of a picture as in execution of any plans.
As to a plan of a picture, its composition, semantic loading - it is question of a spiritual maturity of the author, his internal cleanliness. And a role of the artist I see not in - simply to paint a slice of a canvas, fabrics or papers; and even not in drawing beautiful “views”. It is important from what source the plots are going, what sense is put in the maintenance of a picture. Only the sounding of your soul is a tuning fork for a born image.
